Gite in Plaisians - Drôme Provençale

"A land of open spaces, wild beauty, sunshine and silence, a fragment of paradise" Jean Giono.

We left Paris in the 1980s and settled here, at an altitude of 700m, with a panoramic view of the great Mont Ventoux and the Cévennes far off in the distance! The area is one of the South of France’s best kept secrets because it is somewhat off the beaten track - but not that far! (12 km from Buis les Baronnies, 25 km from Vaison la Romaine, 60 km from Avignon). It is part of the Baronnies Provençales Regional Nature Reserve. On the edge of the hamlet of Les Girards, overlooking the village of Plaisians, we converted a 150m² barn where the villagers used to keep their ploughs, scythes and hay!
